Winter Wonderland Sew Along

Today is my stop on the Winter Wonderland Sew Along with Fat Quarter Shop!

We are sewing the super cute Sleigh Bell Sampler from Sheri Falls wonderful new book Winter Wonderland.

The block I made is the Ornament Block. I used Kona Cotton Ice Fappe for the main ornament fabric. I used a little bit of Hello Darling stripes for the middle section along with Kona Bone color. The background fabric is Kona Snow. I love this little block! I am really crazy for these colors!

I turned my block into a trivet to use during Christmas. Can you see the wrinkles? After I had this all crocheted around the edge and was finished I decided to give it a little press. I sprayed it with starch and put the iron to it and poof! I still think it is so cute!!! I think I might embroider Merry Christmas 2015 on it or something like that.

I want to make this Peppermint Swirls tablerunner. It's adorable! I really love those pinwheels. The quilts in Winter Wonderland are so pretty. I'd like to make one for my mom and mother in law for Christmas. As I'm typing this there is a coolness to the air and I'm sipping hot tea. I can't believe August is coming to an end. Christmas will be here before we know it! I better get started!

HERE is more info and the other blocks and posts for the Sleigh Bell Sampler. Thanks for stopping by.
Happy Sewing!

My Book Has Arrived!

Hi there! My book released last Tuesday!!!! I waited in anticipation all week and weekend to receive my copies. They arrived yesterday and everyone at my house was so excited when the UPS man came rolling down the driveway. My husband happened to be home and he brought them inside. All my kids were waiting for me to open them. They all want a copy. That is the best feeling in the world. My family being so happy for me, not just me but us, because they really made writing it possible. They were by my side, literally, through every step of this process. My husband and kids totally picked up my slack when I was making and writing for the book. They are awesome!

My little girlie picked me some flowers for what she called my Happy Book Day. How sweet is that?!

Thank you all for all of the sweet comments and support for my book. I appreciate it so much. I hope you enjoy it. The pictures are beautiful as well as the graphics. Nancy Mahoney was my technical editor. Talk about me being nervous. She is a fabulous quilter, designer, author and much more. That in itself was just an awesome experience!

I've listed a few signed books in my etsy shop HERE. I'll list more as I can.

Stay tuned because I have a really fun book tour, blog hop kind of thing lined up in September. I am going to have a really fun giveaway with some of my favorite quilting things at the end of the tour.

Have a great week!

Happy Sewing!
